Ethical trading policy
Seamster Vintage is a social enterprise which believes in putting planet and people before profit.
All our clothing will always be preloved or made from upcycled fabrics to minimize the environmental impact of our organization. When we repair or rework items, we may use virgin materials e.g thread or zips, but these are only used when in circumstances where it will prolong the life of the garment and ensure it keeps material out of landfill. Check out our page on the Lifecycle of Seamster Garment.
Our own line of reworked garments are all made locally in our Glasgow workroom by trained proffesionals. All our staff are paid the Glasgow Living Wage because we believe in taking care of the people who make Seamster Vintage.
We are forever grateful to the community in which our organisation grew up in and so always endeavour to raise money for local charities. Previous fundraisers have included Glasgow Womens Aid, Refuweegee and Aoife’s Sensory Bus.
As a proudly independent operator all money spent with Seamster Vintage stays within our community.
